Grant + Kylie | St Ambrose Cathedral | Des Moines Science Center of Iowa Wedding

I was so excited when Kylie contacted us to photographer her and Grant’s wedding a few months ago. I grew up tumbling with Kylie and looking back I remember her as always being the sweetest person inside and out. Grant you are one lucky man!

The day started out at the wonderful Salon W in East Village for hair & makeup. From there we headed to the St. Ambrose Cathedral for getting ready, photos and eventually a gorgeous ceremony.

From there the trolly took us around Des Moines for some gorgeous sunset photos and back to the Science Center of Iowa for the reception. I do have to say the Science Center is such a cool place to have a wedding reception!

Congrats to you two, Kylie you were such a gorgeous bride and we had a blast photographing your big day! Enjoy the photos!

Breanne + Ryan 7.12.14 | Embassy Club West Wedding | West Des Moines, Iowa

Breanne and Ryan’s wedding day kicked off at Breanne’s condo for the girls hair and makeup. From there we jotted off to the Beautiful Savior Church in West Des Moines. From there we took a party bus around West Des Monies ending up at Wellman’s Rooftop for a final drink before the reception. The night ended up with a gorgeously decorated reception at The Embassy Club West just a few miles away. I must say big fan of the Embassy Club West, fun and fancy. Great spot for a wedding in West Des Moines!

The July day may have ended up being a scorcher but you sure couldn’t tell it by the smiles and laughter. Breanne and Ryan had a gorgeous day and HOLY COW can their groomsmen and ushers dance…skills I tell you!

The Iowa State Fair 2014 | A day at the ISF!

I realized the other day it has been SO long since we posted a personal post so here you go! Really that and the fact that I have hundreds of photos from this spring and summer to edit still. Ha! Gosh we’ve just been too busy with life, work, photography jobs and our own wedding planning to edit and share the personal stuff apparently! 😉

I spent my birthday at the Iowa State Fair on Monday as it is pretty much tradition. If you grew up anywhere near Des Moines (ok ok or even in Iowa) you know how great the ISF is! Nothing compares!

From the giant slide to the sky ride and so much naughty food on a stick…you are missing out if you haven’t been! If you love the fair as much as me you will truly enjoy these. And get there as the fair is still open till Sunday August 17th! Enjoy!
