Studio shooting is such a completely different realm of photography! Different funky colored backgrounds, lots of bright lights, pocket wizards rockin’ we just had some fun shooting recently with a local model from Des Moines!

Jess did a pretty amazing job I must say! I give her mad props for being shot by three crazy photographers at once! We shot these all at Ikonix Studio here in Des Moines and our friend who is one of the owners photographer Tom Woolery (Feel free to contact if you need a studio to shoot at!) also stuck around to shoot with us!

Abandoned Iowa: Granger

As long as I can remember I love grungy locations! You can check out some of my old work from my Flickr account here and here and Tanner’s stuff here.

Whenever Tanner drives down from Storm Lake to visit me or I drive up there just off high way 141 there are a TON of awesome locations! We ran up to Granger just north of my condo last weekend and snapped a few photos of this old bus and an LP gas tank junkyard! Can’t wait to take a senior to the junk yard and those pipes for some great shots soon!

Tanner took some awesome HDR’s but we don’t have the full version of Photomatix at my place on the Mac’s so please forgive the PHOTOMATIX copyright for using the program over the images..we will have to fully process these again later with the full version!

Just down the highway about a mile there was a great LP gas tank junkyard with literally hundereds of tanks! So cool! Can’t wait to take a senior there for some pictures this May!

There was also this great collection of pipes in the same lot! Ahh Shelby (our next senior shoot) we are so sticking you in-between these! How amazing!

Kristin + Jason Engaged | Pella Iowa Engagement Photographers

These two are just so much fun! Last Saturday Tanner and I headed off to Pella, IA to snap a few fun engagement pictures for Kristin and Jason whom we are shooting their wedding for at the end of May this year. Pella is just full of awesome places to shoot and a crazy amount of tulips! For those of you who know nothing about Pella they host the annual tulip festival every year so there are tons of amazing colorful spring tulips everywhere..and I do mean EVERYWHERE!

We started off at fun location right off the main square and found this great brick building with great blue doors. After that we took some photos with their fun dogs and then headed to Central Campus and stopped a few spots along the way. Enjoy!
