BVU Beaver Volleyball 2010 | Storm Lake, Iowa Sports Photographer | Buena Vista University Athletics

Ahh Fall sports are finally back in swing! Tanner snapped these photos and videos all last night at the BVU Volleyball game in Storm Lake, IA. These are all taken with a Canon 5D MK II and a 135L F/2 lens.

You can view and purchase pictures on our print site at http://www.ztsphoto.smugmug.com

On a fun note for us as we are photo geeks…(as all photographers are…) we swamped out our 24-105L f/4 IS lens for a 24-70 f/2.8L lens this week. Going to pick it up tomorrow! Ahh its just like ZTS Christmas! The extra stop with the F will be fantastic for low light situations we have been facing lately with dark churches/receptions. Can’t wait to have that extra stop in there.

We also rented some fun lenses for our wedding and 3 engagement shoots coming up in early October. We shall be trying out a 35L F/1.4 and a 50L f/1.2. We are looking for a super low-light crisp and clean prime with great bokeh for weddings & portraits. We have heard fantastic things about both and are excited to compare and try them out over a few sessions!

Mo | Dallas Center Grimes 2011 Senior | Des Moines Senior Portrait Photographer

If your viewing this on Facebook head on over to our blog at https://www.ztsblog.com

A few weeks ago on a Sunday night Tanner and I meet up with MO who is currently a senior in high school at Dallas Center Grimes. We LOVE taking senior pictures. It is a few hours of fun and creativity!

Mo was pretty chill and we really enjoyed our senior session with him. He was very open to ideas, had some of his own and excited about trying out some of ours. He plays guitar and soccer and probably the most laid back senior I think we’ve had all summer. He was down for anything and everything! 🙂

We started out downtown Des Moines stopping at a spot we’ve been wanting to try out an old train depot and then off to the steps of the Capital for sunset photos as well as the cool train tracks over the river. Lastly we ended up in Grimes with some photos at his soccer field and some amazing power lines by my condo.

Enjoy!

Tonight were meeting with another potential couple for a 2011 wedding which I might add were up to 4 fantastic couples for 2011! If you know anyone who is looking for a photographer feel free to shoot them our info we would love to chat with them about shooting their big day.

Wilkin Wedding 09.04.10 | Cedar Rapids Wedding | Iowa Wedding Photographer

This past weekend we shot the Wilkin wedding in Cedar Raipds, Iowa. Wow the day was just perfect! Upper 70’s, fantastic sky, beautiful rich late summer colors. Really couldn’t ask for a better day to shoot a wedding. (Or a cooler sky!) Also helped that the bridal party was fantastic and great to work with!

Here are a few of our favorite shots from the outdoor session in the morning with the bridal party and family of the couple:

This weekend for the first time in a few months and for a few weeks after that we are completely FREE! Oh goodness what to do?! It’s been months it seems since we’ve had a weekend away from seniors, family and wedding photos so believe it or not we are going to relax and watch some Hawkeye/Cyclone football! Cheers to the Cy-Hawk series. (Oh and go HAWKS!) 🙂
