Photo Data Storage | Iowa Wedding Photographers

Storing and backing up photos is key to any photo business. You never know when a hard-drive might crash. We take no risks in having our data in several mediums and locations for peace of mind.

This weekend we invested in yet another safe guard and system for our 2011 wedding season. We believe strongly in having our files in several locations even after final image delivery to our clients.

Our files are on-line virtually in two separate storage facilities that we can access at the touch of a button. The files are zipped into folders sent to us via-email in a matter of minuets. Various hard-drives and cd’s on location and off are part of our plan as well. Our desktops also back up to a time-capsule wirelessly every few hours.

I must say I was pretty pumped when we went into Best Buy this weekend and Tanner found a 3TB hd for the price we paid for our 2TB’s a few months ago.

This was all on my desk last night organizing and backing things up. Finally time to clean it off! 🙂

Unc’s Cheesecakes, Inc. | Des Moines Commercial Photographer

Last night I had the pleasure of traveling to Blue Moon Piano Bar here in Des Moines to visit the wonderful kitchen of Unc’s Cheesecakes, Inc.

Unc’s Cheesecake is run by the fantastic and bubbly Jessica Goodale, originally from Osage, Iowa. Recently Unc’s was chosen to be featured on The Food Network Channel’s Outrageous Food with Tom Pizzica which airs nationwide in April. They were the chosen vendor to be featured on the show from the local Blue Ribbon’s Baconfest which took place in Des Moines earlier this year. Make sure to tune in and watch Unc’s Cheesecake on the show later this spring!

Jessica prepares cheesecake locally here in Des Moines and also for many events from her hometown of Osage. She makes cheesecake for all types of gatherings from weddings to baby showers. If you are looking for a delicious desert to add to your reception or party contact Jessica, her cheesecake is just pure delight in every bite!

PapaJohn Sculpture Park | Des Moines Iowa Wedding Photographers

First things first we have two new lights along with light-stands and soft-boxes on the way! We ordered two more Alien Bee 800’s to join our 1600 that are set to arrive in a week or so. No they won’t be hot pink unfortunately. I seriously pushed hard for some hot pink lights! Tanner has some awesome lighting ideas for some upcoming engagement sessions and 2011 weddings so stay tuned!

Last night on my way home the sun was setting cruising by the PapaJohn Sculpture Park in Western Gateway Park. I decided it was the perfect time to stop and try out our 14mm f/2.8 lens that just recently had some repairs and cleaning done by Sigma. Below are some images from the 5 minuets I was alone with the Nomade sculpture. Man that big guy gets some serious daily visitors even at 8pm on a Sunday night. I did have enough time to find the most important letters though!
