The second wedding of double Memorial Day ZTS wedding weekend started off Sunday afternoon here in Des Moines.

Karin and Brad originally hired us last fall to shoot just their wedding reception as they were getting married this spring in Hawaii, but turned out that much of their family couldn’t attend from the distance and cost so they decided to have a a full wedding ceremony here in Des Moines so everyone could partake and enjoy their big day.

The two began by getting ready downtown at the gorgeous Renaissance Des Moines Savery Hotel located on Locust Ave. We decided to start off by snapping a few images of the dress in the hallway followed by some macro ring shots with our new 100mm f/2.8 macro lens.

Long Exposure + Sparklers + Car…

If your viewing this on Facebook head on over to our blog at https://www.ztsblog.com

This is what happens when Tanner and I get bored…we outline a car with sparklers! Last summer we were experimenting with light and long exposures and what better to do that play with sparklers! We headed off to a remote gravel road in-between Clear Lake and Garner Iowa with a pack of sparklers, two tripods, a 15mm fish-eye lens, 11-18mm lens and far too much creativity for our own good.

We set the cameras on 30 second self timer exposures we ran around the car outlining it with the sparklers creating the below images. We are planning on doing something sweet for some promotional photos with Phyllis (the H3) in the next few weeks with sparklers as they are again in season…(YAY for the 4th! My favorite holiday!) so if anyone wants to volunteer some time to run around the car for us holding some sparklers we would appreciate that! 🙂
