I-Cubs Baseball Home Opener 2010

Last Thursday I headed down to the Iowa Cubs home opener at Principal Park. I received free tickets through work at Visionary we purchased a sweet banner on the Cub’s dugout. With this  visionary got two season tickets for us to use throughout the year.

I asked my brother Chadwick if he wanted to tag along and of course he did! So he came and meet me after work and we headed over to the field.

Lets just say it was COLD! Or it got cold! Down in the 40’s at the end of the game (not really that bad for Iowa in April but c’mon that’s a wee bit chilly) but I got some seriously amazing pictures with our new 70-200mm f/2.8 lens. Wow that thing is just sharp! (AND fast!) Below is the favorite image from the game! He’s OUT!

During the 3rd inning the crowd started thinning out, so I casually made my way closer to the field.Plus some little boy down there told me my camera was a beast. 🙂

Can’t wait to go to more games this spring and summer! A fellow photographer who has shot multiple NFL games and works at Christian Photography here in Des Moines where we buy most of our local equipment gave me a name and number to call to get Tanner and I access to take pictures ON the field this summer! I should probably get on calling that! Looks like we may need to rent a 300mm f/2.8!
